Species Name: Olaeq
Pronounced: oh-lai-ek
Image: None
Infant Range: 0-1 year
Teenager Range: 1-2 years
Adult Range: 2+ years
Characteristics: Their skin color is almost always an extremely bright, almost neon, green. They have a very thin body structure with rather oily skin. Their heads are long and almost bird like in shape, and does have a dull, small beak. They walk on their hind legs, which are long, thick and covered in vibrant stripes (can be any color). For males their front arms are long but very skinny, and have extra skin hanging out. Also, their neck also has a dewlap. This extra skin has vibrant color patterns that are used to attract mates. For both gender's they have a decent sized flower on the tip of their long whip like tail. This flower seems to have a mind of its own and will often snap at anyone who passes by when Olaeq are sleeping. There's one other important thing to know about this Protist. The oils that is secretes are very poisonous, and the brighter the colors on the Olaeq the deadlier it is. However, it is only poisonous to those who ingest it. Now I wonder, who would do a thing like that?
Height: 4-6 ft tall | 6-14 feet long (w/tail)
Weight: 75-190lbs
Social Behavior: Usually they are very peaceful creatures and don't like to fight. When threatened they usually turn around and whip their offender with their tail. They are very big on mating rituals and once they pick a mate they mate for life. You can always find a few males who are greedy and snag themselves a few extra females.
Habitat: the Jungle
Population: Common
Food: Neither
Reproduction: They are only able to breed during the winter when their tail flower falls off. A male and female must both shed their flower in close proximity. The seeds and pollen in their tail flower is what gives life to the next generation of Olaeq. However, the actual Olaeq themselves do not breed. The weird thing is, they have the body functions to do so much like animals from the past would of.
